INOVA Federal Credit Union Sponsors a Habitat for Humanity Build Project
Elkhart, IN – Employees and members of INOVA Federal Credit Union know how it feels to donate sweat equity for a good cause. From June 2 – June 9, 2007, they joined Habitat for Humanity to sponsor a home for the Canen family located at 1720 Elizabeth Street in Elkhart.
The volunteer crew had a chance to work in typical Indiana weather, from cool and rainy to blazing hot, but the home was completed by the designated date. The dedication ceremony was held on June 9, 2007 at 11:00 am. An emotional Jennifer Canen was thrilled with the thought of having a home of her own, “It means a lot. My kids are so excited to have their own rooms!”
Now that the home is completed, INOVA FCU will hold the 30-year mortgage at 0% interest. “Being a part of this project has been a terrific experience. It was great to see our employees and members really pitch in and have a good time working for such a meaningful cause; providing housing for a member of our very own community,” says Dallas Bergl, President and CEO of INOVA Federal Credit Union.
INOVA Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, financial cooperative headquartered in downtown Elkhart, Indiana. INOVA FCU has twelve branch locations in six states, serving over 33,000 members and over 400 select employee groups.
