Letter to Our Members

Dear Member,

I am writing to share some exciting news about your credit union.  As you know, credit union members like you are much more than customers, you are our owners.  With this in mind, we feel it is important to keep you up to date about all of the happenings at your credit union.  The most recent of which is a recommendation made by management and approved by the Board of Directors to rename the credit union.  We are pleased to announce that effective February 26, 2007 the credit union will become INOVA Federal Credit Union.

It is important to know that we have not been bought, sold or merged and that you will continue to receive the same outstanding service from the same wonderful people that you always have.  You do not need to do anything out of the ordinary before, during or after this change.  Your account number(s) will remain the same, as will our routing and transit number, phone numbers, locations and mailing addresses.  You will begin to see the new name and logo within the coming months at all of the branches, on the website, and on your credit union documents. 

This decision was based upon many factors, not the least of which is the growth of our organization and the expansion of our membership.  The confidence that you, your family and friends have shown us has allowed this credit union to serve more people and to offer more products and services than we ever thought possible.  Our history reaches back to 1942 when we were founded to serve the employees of Miles Laboratories.   Our success however, has enabled us to expand to serve four community areas and the employees and families of over 475 other companies, with branches in six states.  We want you to know that we are looking to the future and are committed to our mission of helping you improve your financial well-being.

Our new name, INOVA, was formed out of a combination of the words innovation and ovation.  This new name symbolizes our dynamic organization as we look toward the future, integrating the best new technology, while retaining our foundation of service, satisfaction and safety that is our heritage. You will begin to see the new INOVA FCU logo, which includes our historic three leaf logo and a brand new wave.  We felt it was important to keep the legacy of the three leaves as a way to represent the credit union's past, present and future.

Even as our name changes, our products and the quality of service you receive will stay the same.  You will soon begin to see our new name everywhere, but your account will remain unaffected.  Your checks, debit and credit cards will continue to work.  We will not be doing a mass reissue of these items for security reasons.  When you reorder checks, the new logo will be included and as your current credit or debit card expires you will receive an updated card with the INOVA logo.  We are excited to start a new chapter in your credit union's history and are thrilled to share the journey with you.
